Custom Staircase by ArtisanSteelworks
Steven Le, our friend and Realtor, asked us to custom build for him a staircase in an old house that he was renovating.
Since the staircase is in the centre of the living room it is the focal point of the house so he was looking for something modern and elegant that would follow the theme of open concept.
We found a design for him on Houzz.com that would be below his budget.
After removing the old wooden staircase we fabricated the stringers for the stair case on site.

At the shop, the risers and threads were welded on and since high heat from welding tends to deform metal, we pressed the stringers to account for any misalignment.

The handrails were custom fitted to the ceiling above and extended all way down to the basement as one long and solid piece that would ensure maximum stability and security.
